We are currently looking for a facilitator, someone who is willing to organize the monthly meetings (with the assistance of our volunteers). Until we find someone, no meetings will take place. [the facilitator position is an unpaid, volunteer position] We are a non- profit support, information and education group that explores treatments, ideas and products that may benefit our members. Our group usually meets once each month, at 519 Church Street Community Centre, in downtown Toronto. The building is fully accessible and Wheels Trans will be able to drop you off at the front door of the building. We have a varieity of formats for our meetings, ranging from speakers, workshops and videos. For your convenience, we also have a telephone committee that will remind members of upcoming meetings within days before the actual date. (Members can be informed by email if they prefer). All of our members suffer from chronic pain, although our conditions will vary considerably: existing members conditions include brain tumour, diabetic neuropathy, Multiple Sclerosis, radiculopathy, fibromyalgia, muscle spasm, spinal injury, automobile injury, and arthritis, among many others. Many of our members use various medications to reduce their pain, including narcotics. Within our group, the age range is from 25 to 75 years. There are only 3 conditions for attendance: 1. Accept that other members have pain 2. Do not discuss any personal medical histories during the meeting 3. Do not try to sell products or services at meetings Visitors are always welcome and we try hard to encourage members to bring along a guest. We look forward to meeting you.
